In 2013, I had one of the most difficult design assignments of my life: to design the look and invitation for my own wedding to my amazing husband, who also happens to be a graphic designer. No pressure! Our invitation had to reflect our personal style and set the tone for the entire wedding.
Our wedding was in October and the design inspiration for the overall look came from the season, fall, and the tea party theme that we chose which represents my love of all things British. So out came the bunting (flags traditionally used for parties in Great Britain), tea, natural elements, and gold, gold, and more gold!
The wedding set included the invitation housed in a gold envelope with a directions card and a photo of us on the reverse. The invitations are letterpressed on a soft paper with a gold foil overlay on the flags. We created bi-fold programs for the ceremony, and yellow pennant flags for our send off which were given out to guests as party favors.
And on the day itself, we were blessed with perfect, late fall weather and a flawless wedding day that lived up to our highest expectations.
