Rather than writing a lot about our vacation, we thought we'd let the photos say it all. We stayed at the Hotel Catalonia Royal Bavaro and had a wonderful all-inclusive vacation experience!
February 26, 2016 - Day 1
Setting out from Oklahoma.
Because we stayed on the adults only side of the resort, after the taxi ride from the airport, this was our escort to the area where we stayed.
Our first view of the beautiful beach we would call home for the next few days.
February 27, 2016 - Day 2
Main foyer of the Catalonia Bavaro
Our room: 4412 at the Catalonia Bavaro Royal
For our second night's dinner, we visited the Tao Cat, Asian cuisine. The Thai Sampler was fantastic, the rest was enjoyable.
Your guess is as good as mine for what "to the green tea" means. I ordered it, but was given something else, so I'm not sure what it was.
February 28, 2016 - Day 3
Breakfast at the Thalassa restaurant
Starting off the day strong!
After a morning at the beach and snorkeling, we enjoyed lunch at the Sea Blue.
One of many Piña coladas
The Ma Loo Juice Bar had fresh coconuts that they would cut with a machete and serve to you straight with a straw.
February 29, 2016 - Day 4
A little live festive Dominican music for the beach dwellers.
Tourist shops (shacks) just beyond the resort property on the beach. We only saw it from a distance after all the locals kept trying to get us to come in closer.
Walking around the resort. I would love to have this landscaping everywhere at home.
Our room (bottom floor).
Like a magazine ad.
For our last evening dinner, we visited Cata Tapa and were very pleased with everything we got (all 6 dishes, plus 3 desserts...)
After walking around to the family side of the resort, we stumbled upon a surprise show. The Michael Jackson tribute show was pretty awesome, but we only stayed for a few songs before going back to the calm and tranquil side.
March 01, 2016 - Day 5
For our farewell breakfast, we decided to try the other buffet on the family side, the Gran Caribe. It had a few different items and a change of scenery, but again, the adults side was best.
Goodbye Punta Cana and your awesome airport.
Hello again Oklahoma City.
